I just saw the entire cast for the new Korean “Jersey Shore” in K-Town and you know what? I’m really intrigued!!! I think they look like an awesome cast.

To be honest, I really expected a typical “Real World” cast where they purposely choose the Asians that look slightly nerdy and shy. But finally, an edgy Asian-American cast that I’m interested in!

Here is a picture:

So a lot of people know my sister is a reporter. And I’m her biggest fan! OMG, this is the funniest video I have seen of her yet. HAHA
Take a look:

So have you seen this new show about 8 Italians who live together in a house in Jersey, have their lives taped and you also get to see who stops being polite and starts getting real???

Okay that was lame…but seriously Jersey Shore is one of the most controversial, most talked about shows today, especially in my personal social circle.

When I first started seeing commercials popping up everywhere promoting the show, I definitely thought the show was going to be a joke. It looked like a waste of time…8 people who want to drink, party, beat up people, and who are full of themselves, right? Well, the more and more I watched the show, the more I became infatuated with these characters and with the whole Guido/Guidette community as a whole.

In case you don’t watch the show and my references are a bit confusing for you, a Guido is a person of Italian descent who are a part of the working class urban Italian American community and the term is constantly linked to thuggish males with tough, macho attitudes. A guidette is kind of the same deal but targeted to females. (Thanks again Wikipedia, old pal)

After watching a few episodes, you see the usual drama where people are fighting, arguing, etc. But one particular thing I’ve noticed is that they don’t fight only with each other like in Real World, but they fight FOR each other against people who stereotype them or criticize them. It really makes the entire cast look like a tight unit or a family rather than just roommates. The bonds with one another are very genuine and you feel like you know them too.

A lot of concern from viewers is mainly because the show puts Italians in a bad light and reinforces stereotypes. So I totally understand why people would be pissed. If there was a show with 8 Asian-American strangers living in a house, all looking like brainy geeks or perceived in a certain way, I would get really embarrassed because I wouldn’t want anyone to categorize me as one of them.

On the other hand, I watch Jersey Shore and I learn so much about this Italian subculture and I really don’t watch and think “Oh all Italians are like that,” but it’s more like, “Wow. This is a new atmosphere and a new culture I’ve never explored. It’s so interesting.” I just think there are different social groups where people find they fit in and can make a bond with other people, and this happens to be one of the groups. I honestly think they are all just having fun and having a good time and trying to be as happy as possible, and other people are hating on them because of their negative stereotypes.

I mean, as long as they’re not hurting anyone, I think it’s fine. The show is damn entertaining, so don’t knock it til you try it. lol

Give me your views.

After watching the Hills last night, I have to say… I really want Kristin and Brody back together again. I don’t know why everyone’s hating on Kristin…she was my favorite on Laguna beach and now she’s my favorite on the Hills. She’s carefree and happy and she’s not catty like the other girls. I just like that she’s not a hater…she really just lives her life!

And although Jayde Nicole is hot and she’s been on the cover of playboy and all that jazz…she has ONLY that to offer. I really don’t like the girl…she seems really bratty. I’m just saying…Brody seems a lot happier when he’s with Kristin! Jayde is pretty but I can’t stand girls who use their hotness as an excuse to be bitches to other people. Personally, I think the prettiest girls are the ones that are not only pretty on the outside, but are genuinely nice too. That’s something to be jealous of, and honestly that’s the reason why I prefer Kristin. Girls who hate on other girls is really not attractive.

Anyway, enough of my ranting. What do you all think? Are you Team Kristin or Team Jayde?

Okay I admit it…Bad Girl’s Club is a huge guilty pleasure of mine. I just watched a re-run of last season. I absolutely loved the last season and I think all the s**t-talking, drama, arguing, and fighting is not just entertaining, but it really does help me reflect on my own choices in the past and present. It’s funny because my attitude and personal beliefs are opposite from a lot of the girls on the show, yet I can somehow relate to them too.

I definitely grew up in a surrounding where fighting and arguing were prominent. I didn’t live in a bubble where everything was perfect; I actually had someone come up to me and tell me they didn’t like me – even though I had never seen her before!

So in every show, there are always different cliques and categories.

- There are the tough girls who can’t wait for you to give them a reason to hit you
- The tough girls who just talk and don’t do anything
- The bullies who gang up on you for no reason
- The instigators who love watching people fight (makes them feel warm inside)
- The slightly more objective people who try to make sense of things (the middleman)
- The victims who don’t know why they’re being picked on
- The people who seem like doormats but go crazy once they’re messed with

I had to deal with so much drama throughout middle school & high school and if I had to pick which category I fall under, it would definitely be the last one. People really did pick on me since I was a super nice kid, but they could only push me so far.

Well I just watched an episode right now and this show reminds me of all the drama in high school and makes me laugh at how petty girls can be. Don’t get me wrong, I’ve made mistakes too but for the past 4 years, I haven’t had any drama so watching this show brings me back to that time.

If you watched the show, all I have to say is that the scene where all the girls were ganging up on the “Ambers” really pissed me off. Especially when the girls kicked Amber M. in the head while she was down. I can’t believe there are girls who act like that and think it’s okay to gang up on someone for no specific reason. UGH…this show gets me riled up sometimes but I still love it. haha Random blog for you before I go off and watch “The Hills.” I’m such a reality t.v. junkie! LATA!
